What is Holistic Health Coaching and Wellness Consulting?

Holistic Health Coaching and Wellness Consulting looks at the you as a “whole being” inside and out. Every person is different, and working together we will look at your individual needs and keep refining them as you progress. Your health should not ever be stagnant, but an always evolving journey depending on where you are in your life. Holistic Coaching is not based on any particular diet, but figuring out what works best for your health. This may include adding teas, essential oils, supplement recommendations, whole grains, meditation, exercise, etc. to aid in improving your health. Holistic Health Coaching is not for someone looking to lose ten pounds in a month, although that could be the result by making simple healthy changes in your lifestyle. This process is about making life long changes, and learning that every single choice you make throughout each day has a consequence. It may show up in your waistline, job performance, sleep, mood, skin, hair, relationships, motivation or all of the above.

What type of client do you work with?

One that is ready to take responsibility for their health and make our time together the beginning of a lifelong journey. This encompasses many areas of your life including self-care. As a Licensed Massage Therapist I believe strongly in receiving bodywork as part of your nutrition and health. If you are someone who is looking for a magic drink, fad diet, or quick fix then this is not for you. My approach is to facilitate health education and make you view food in a new way, and take the fear out of it all. You are bombarded every day with new fad diets and terms and it can all be very confusing. Working together you will learn what it all means, and what works best for your body and mind.

Why should I use a Health Coach?

If you’ve tried every diet, lost weight then gained it all back plus some, feel confused by all of the terminology, want to prevent chronic disease, need accountability, want to be heard, want to learn to shop smarter and cook more at home, need help mentally and spiritually, then you need a Health Coach. If you think you are eating healthy, but still feel exhausted, have anxiety and depression, don’t feel like you are your best self, and can’t understand why you feel that way then you need a Holistic Health Coach. Just like you would hire a personal trainer to guide you in your workouts, view your Health Coach as a “personal trainer” for your health.

How do you feel about dieting?

I do not believe in diets. I believe that they don’t work, and the more diets you try the more weight you eventually gain. I believe in making smart choices and eating whole foods. I understand that we can’t be perfect everyday, and some days we may just need that cookie or piece of cake. The goal is to make those days fewer and fewer and not an everyday occurrence.

How do I pay and do you offer gift certificates?

You can pay with cash, check or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover). Once you are ready to pay I will email you a form where you can add the program to your cart and follow the directions to complete payment. Or if you wish, you may pay with your credit card in person or over the phone. And yes. Gift certificates are available for a specific session or dollar amount.

Where will the meetings be held?

Meetings can be held by phone, Skype, or if you would like in person. This can be determined when setting up your program.

How will I know which foods to buy?

If going to the health food store is overwhelming with too many choices you can sign up for the Health Food Store Field Trip to learn how to shop and what all of those “mystery” foods mean.

How does massage play a role in my nutrition?

As a Licensed Massage Therapist I feel that bodywork is a crucial part of your overall health. Massage is more than having quiet time to relax. The circulatory work involved allows your body to eliminate toxins and cleanse your body of stuck energy. Taking the time to breathe and feel centered is a form of meditation which helps to release endorphins into the body. The more bodywork you receive the easier it becomes to be in sync with what’s happening in your body. Bodywork also helps reduce cellulite, improves skin elasticity and muscle tone. I have created a Holistic Nutrition Massage for my clients using essential oils, herbs, and minerals to balance the body and aid you in your goals.
