The Energy of Gratitude

Gratitude is like fairy-dust you get to sprinkle onto your life every day. The energy of gratitude is part of the Law of Attraction, which states that what we put out into the world is reflected and attracted back to us. Gratitude is an energy, that when we practice regularly, we learn to attract more of what we desire into our lives. Being in lack comes from not asking for what we want, and being in fear that there are limits to what we can have. We feel undeserving and guilty for wanting more. 

When we are grateful our hearts are open. Anytime I have felt stuck in my life, I know that I have stopped practicing gratitude and have closed my heart to receiving. 

So how can you create more gratitude in your life? Start small. Every night before I go to sleep, I talk to the universe, and go through my list of everything I am grateful for. I express how full my heart is, and include thanks for moments in my day that were hard--because they too, are gifts of growth. 

I include the people in my day, and thank them for showing up and making my life better. I include thanks to nature and animals; and then I may look at what I want to invite into my life, asking my Spirits and ancestors to assist me. I always end my gratitude practice with thanking them for working with me. I then feel how all of this lands in my body which gives me information as to whether I have some personal work to do, or if I am in the flow. 

I offer you a challenge, that for the next month you practice gratitude at least once a day and see how it affects your life. And if you are having a really bad day, practice more than once. It is in the low moments that gratitude becomes a wonderful tool to raise our spirits and show us how much we have. It is hard to feel sad when you are feeling grateful.
